1. Purpose
This policy explains how social media content, photography, testimonials, and online communication are handled within my teaching practice.
It protects both students and teacher and ensures clarity around consent and professional boundaries.
2. Photography & Video Recording
I will never photograph or record students without explicit permission. Separate consent will always be requested before:
- Posting photos or videos on social media
- Sharing workshop clips
- Using images on a website
- Creating promotional materials
- Sharing student performance excerpts
Consent:
- Is optional
- Can be withdrawn at any time
- Will never affect your participation in sessions
If consent is withdrawn, content will be removed where reasonably possible.
3. Testimonials
Testimonials may be requested from time to time. Before publishing:
- Written permission will be obtained
- You may choose to use full name, first name only, or remain anonymous
Testimonials may appear on:
- Website
- Social media platforms
- Printed materials
You may request removal at any time.
4. Tagging & Sharing
Students are welcome (but not required) to:
- Tag the business on social media
- Share their progress or experiences
If you tag the business, I may reshare your post unless you request otherwise. If you prefer not to appear in shared group content, please inform me.
5. Student Recordings
Students may not record sessions without prior permission but are encouraged to record for practice purposes:
- They must not be shared publicly
- They must not be used commercially
- They are for personal development only
6. Content Ownership
All teaching materials, exercises, warm-ups, written guides, and recorded content remain the intellectual property of Elizabeth Peirson, singing and yoga lessons.
They may not be:
- Copied
- Distributed
- Taught commercially
- Shared online
Without written permission.
7. Direct Messaging & Communication Boundaries
Social media messaging is not a guaranteed booking method. For bookings, cancellations, or important communication, please use: elizabeth.peirson@hotmail.com or text/WhatsApp 07734872320
Messages sent via social platforms:
- May not be seen immediately
- Are answered within working hours where possible
I do not provide:
- Emergency support via social media
- Medical advice via messaging
8. Online Conduct
Students engaging with business social media are expected to:
- Communicate respectfully
- Avoid inappropriate or offensive language
- Refrain from harassment or aggressive behaviour
I reserve the right to:
- Remove comments
- Block accounts
- Refuse services where behaviour is inappropriate
9. Workshops & Group Events
At workshops or group classes:
- General room photos may occasionally be taken for promotional purposes
- Individuals will not be featured without consent
- Anyone who prefers not to appear may notify me in advance
I will always aim to position cameras respectfully.
10. Data Protection
All personal information collected for marketing purposes (e.g., mailing lists):
- Is stored securely
- Is never sold or shared
- Can be unsubscribed from at any time
I comply with UK GDPR requirements.
11. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in practice or law. The latest version will always apply.
